Biotechnology has opened the door to a wealth of possibilities in the pharmaceutical industry by making it possible to obtain various biopharmaceutical products, such as recombinant proteins. The production systems in transgenic plants (in particular through chloroplast transformation) has advantages over conventional methods due to its efficiency, easy scalding, production costs and biological safety of the product.
We are currently studying the production of proteins that are of therapeutical interest (albumine, interferon, IGF-1 and cardiotrofin) and beef antigenes (in place of canaine parvovirus and bovine rotavirus).
