IdAB is a joint Institute (the only one of its kind in the field of Agricultural Sciences within CSIC) with CSIC, UPNA and the Government of Navarra.

The structure of IdAB is shown in the figure below. Since last September, the Institute has a Director that was nominated by the Administrative Committee. In November 2004 the first Scientific Council was officially created at the Institute (made up of full-time IdAB staff) and it is responsible for tasks and issues as set forth in the “Internal Regulations” of the agreement signed by CSIC, UPNA and the GN for the creation of the Institute. In June 2005, the Institute Boardwas constituted.

IdAB does not have its own Labor Safety or Bio-safety Committees, since these functions are shared between the respective administrations of UPNA and CSIC. At any rate, currently there are two IdAB researchers that are members of the Committee of Ethics, Animal Experiments and Bio-safety at UPNA. The operation of the Institute is the task of the General Manager, who isa staff-member of CSIC, as well as of an administrative manager from the University in charge of university-institute liaising.
